其它时候也就不提了，可凭嘛在《沙岗堡》里叫凯瑟琳.德纳芙和苏菲.玛索伺候丫一人儿啊？！更可气的是，Philippe Sarde竟然还极其手欠地为之谱写了一首甚至可与德沃夏克相媲美的大提琴与乐队协奏主题，那份儿缠绵悱恻呦...... LSO跟后头还一劲儿地起哄嫁秧，指挥台上站的又不是Boult，你们激什么动啊？！

那张并非《公民凯恩》的原声大碟，是Bernard Herrmann七十年代中期为DECCA当时新开发的Phase 4 Stereo技术，在伦敦金士威大厅重新演录的一系列经典配乐精选中的一张，其中只有前4首大概13分钟的音乐选自《公民凯恩》，其它曲目则分别来自《简爱》、《乞立马扎罗山上的雪》、《神秘岛》等另外5部电影。这是张从LP时代就挺有名的发烧片儿，LPO的演奏也异常华美，MFSL为此还发行过一版24K Gold。

同时同地，RCA请了Charles Gerhardt与NPO另外录制了一组以《公民凯恩》为题的Bernard Herrmann配乐精选，内容与DECCA完全不同，录音师为K.E. Wilkinson(DECCA那版是Arthur Lilley录的)。

《公民凯恩》的完整配乐长达50分钟，目前最理想的版本是Joel McNeely指挥皇家苏格兰于1997~99年之间为Varese Sarbande录制的20bit版，制作上下了很大功夫。
